Across Nepal, strings of prayer flags flutter over mountain passes, rooftops and courtyards, carrying color and good wishes on the wind. Our pom pom garland borrows that idea: a line of color that turns any space into a celebration.
Craft, Technique & Artisans
Felt balls are one of Nepal’s most iconic crafts, and every one starts as a small tuft of loose wool. Our artisans roll each tuft between their palms in warm, soapy water, turning and pressing it until it tightens into a firm, perfectly round ball. Then they rinse, dry and string the pom poms one by one. A single garland holds many hours of patient, rhythmic work by women artisans in the Kathmandu Valley.
