Our founders, Ishu and Tulja, embarked on a journey to create a platform that would not only preserve Nepal's artistic traditions but also uplift the artisans who struggled to make ends meet. What started as a humble effort has now blossomed into a thriving community of nearly 200 artisans. Together, we weave the heritage of Nepal into every piece we craft, infusing the essence of the Himalayas into our work.
From high-altitude hemp to hand-pounded copper, our materials tell the stories of Nepal’s landscapes and culture. The Anticipation: ‘Apah’ Collection
After two years of creative refinement, we are thrilled to introduce our newest jewelry collection: ‘Apah’, a Sanskrit word meaning “flowing water.” This collection marks a significant milestone for Ne Nepal as we bring forth a line of meticulously crafted jewelry that embodies the rich cultural heritage and profound spirituality of the Himalayas. Inspired by the ever-flowing waters of the Himalayas—an essential element of life itself—Apah reflects the soul of Nepal and the craftsmanship of its people.
The collection features hand-cut turquoise, a stone revered for its symbolic representation of protection, tranquility, and wisdom. Turquoise is not just a gemstone but a talisman, deeply rooted in Nepalese culture. Celebrating Spiritual Connections: Apah's Launch at Sanepa
On Saturday, October 5, we unveiled the Apah collection at our flagship store in Sanepa. The launch was a celebration of both creativity and spirituality, where we honored the very essence of water and life. To complement the launch, we featured Shrayam Shakya’s ‘The Yaksha Series,’ an evocative art installation that tells the tale of nature spirits, Yakṣa, who safeguard and bring water back to the local hitis of Patan. His terracotta bricks, part of the Yakṣa series, highlight the ancient practice of controlling and storing water through spiritual means, connecting our modern creations with Nepal's deeply-rooted spiritual and environmental heritage.
